2.- The ICEPS laboratory for chemical research is located at Strada Polizu No. 2,
Bucharest, near the Northern Railroad Station. The ICEPS planning department
is located at Strada C.A. Rosetti and Bulevardul Balcescu, Bloc Victoria.
The only production unit known is that in the former Dudesti-Cioplea powder
factory.
3. The laboratory has a staff of 120 chemical engineers, technicians, and
others; the planning department has 100 engineers, technicians, and draftsmen;
and the production unit at Dudesti-Cioplea has 600 technicians? administrative
employees, and laborers.
4. Inorganic research in the laboratory includes ceramics, building materials,
paints, and chemical reagents; the latter are made to Merck specifications and
in sufficient quantities to meet local demand. Organic research includes
pharmaceutical products and dyes, but no plastics.
5. The production unit, which is the former nitric acid unit of the Dudesti-.
Cioplea factory, concentrates on the following products:
The Institutul de Cercetari Chimice at Proectari Semi-Industriale W-cal
Research and Industrial. Planning Institute - ICEPS), under the Ministry of
Chemistry and MetallurfZ*, has the responsibility for research, planning, and
production of all new chemical products; the improvement of various industrial
products; and the planning of new production units.

10 to 50 kilograms of inorganic reagents are also produced monthly,
