The State Committee for the Collection of Agricultural Products (Comitetul de Stat Pentru Colectaea Produselor A8ricole; CSCPA) was established on 15 May 1950, following the reorganization of Comcereal. It is located at Bulevardul Republicii 25X1 2. CSCPA`is an independent organization, equivalent in rank to a ministry. Its duties are collecting and storing of agricultural produce, particularly grain, and fixing annual quotas of production to be collected from farmers. On 1 January 1952 CSCPA received t he additional duties of setting production quotas, collecting, and storing 3. The CSCPA head office in Bucharest employs approximately 700 people in nine direct- brates and three-bureaus. The head office is organized along the lines of a ministry. There are regional reception centers in the principal cities of each district, sever: .district centers in the smaller towns, and collection points in every village. Grain is transferred temporarily from village collection points and district centers to large storage depots. There are also a number of modern mechanically equipped, air- conditioned silos where grain is stored, principally for export and as reserve. a. Large silos: Constanta, Braila, Tecuci, Tiganesti (probably Teleorman region), arid'-Craiova, be 611 silos: Buzau, Cernavoda, Turnu Magurele, Galati, Calafat (Doll region) g Fetesti (Ialomita region), Tandarei, Calarasi, Bale (Doll region), and Timisoara. : c. Large maize-drying plants: Braila, Giurgiu, Oltenita,2yand Tecuci. .The State Reserves Office (Oficiul Rezervelor de Stat; ORS) was established in 1951.
