As of 13 June 1553, Vaclav Rlavac, first counselor of the Czechoslovak 31Bbassy in Fast .Berlin, was instructed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue the necessary documents for the return to Czechoslovakia of all former Czechoslovak citizens belonging to the Sudeten German group who could meet the following three conditions: a. That, the applicants be workers and come from worker families. b. That they be members of or sympathizers with progressive political parties. c. That they are willing to work for the victory of socialism in Czechoslovakia, Sudeten Germans who opposed ]nazism and who are willing to work in industry or in the mines, as decided by the authorities, will be granted full Czechoslovak citizenship and will be assured of housing facilities in the districts where they are assigned to work. They will be allowed to take members of their families with them. 3. Sudeten Germans who have been in the organizations of Dr. Rudolf Lodgian van 4 en or Wenzel.Jakscch will not be granted free return. 4. In general, preference will be given to skilled industrial workers from industries abandoned in Czechoslovakia because of the shortage of manpower. An official appeal for their return is expected soon. But since there are very few Sudeten Germans fully eligible under the restrictions, the step may be regarded as a propaganda measure.
