inspected Polish naval vessels on the occasion of the fleet festival
on 28 June 1953. At 11:4E p..m. on the same day, 19 naval vessels which
rod6:) at anchor off Gdynia included one one-stank destroyer, two sub-
marines and 16 small vessels. All were brightly illuminated.
2. A merchant ship from West Germar{yr was checked at Nowy Port (Danzig-
Neufahrwasser) as usual on 29-30 June 1953. The situation in Gdansk
was apparently calm.
3. At 9 p.m# on 26 June 1953., two two-staok Soviet cruisers, both of the
same type, and six two-stack destroyers of identical type were sighted
on an yeast-t ortheaat ;course in 58 :Aegreet 50 minutes north 20 degrees
0 minutes east.
