One naval vessel was patrolling the approaches to Tsingtao
one armed naval LST was lying at anchor in Tsingtao Ba
one armed Naval LST was moored off No. 4 Mole, Tsingtao. 25X1
two fast naval motor boats approximately 40-50
feet long were proceeding abreast in an easterly direction off Tsingtao
reef. These motor boats appeared similar to German K.S. type naval vessels.

with very long barrels, two in the. stern and two forward of the bridge.
Gun shields were present, but there were no flash eliminators,. There were
a number of smaller guns.

Garrison headquarters..and':Tsingtso pier is:guarded by naval sentries.
The only service personnel in the Tsingtao city limits are public security
troops and naval personnel,.2 although there are regular troops stationed
east of the city at Chan Shan (3277/1472), where three observation posts are 25X1
evident in a restricted area.
Comments
seventy-five percent of the total military personnel in Tsingtao were
naval personnel.
