1. The Ing. Saligny bridge of Cernavoda over the Danube River is very well protected

2. Approximately. 20 oil tanks, located at-about 1+00 meters from the railroad
tracks and 200 meters from the .entrance to the bridged
its entrance, in the direction of the Dunarea station. The breakwater serves as
a base for six antiaircraft guns of 37 mm caliber and a range finder. The guns
are mounted on gun stands and the gun stands are anchored iri cement, There is also
a wooden barrack for housing the soldiers, on the same breakwater,
Across the bridge, south of the. railroad tracks, and on the right side of the bridge,
there is another antiaircraft battery. The battery is located at approximately 200
meters from the bridgehead and approximately 150 meters south of the railroad tracks,
It is composed of-six guns of 37 mm caliber and a range finder. All this equipment
is installed in earthen shelters which are surrounded by earthen embanlflnents, and
cannot be seen from the train. The shelters are covered with nets and grass for
further camouflage. At the elevation point No. 90, located at 600 meters south of
t`he Cernavoda station, there is a battery of seven antiaircraft guns of 75 mm caliber
also provided with a range finder.
A stone breakwater is located siau~.h of the bridge at about 30 or L~0 meters from
by Rumanian antiaircraft artillery. A battery of six antiaircraft guns and a range
-f~-r~cler is installed north of the bridge at a distance of approximately 30O meters
from it and 100 meters from the railroad tracks toward the Dunarea station. The
antiaircraft guns are of 37 mm caliber .:. They are installed on stone platforms
located in the .immediate vicinity of the ~Tillow Woods.
