north-northwest at irregular intervals.
1. Comment. The two searchlights near Tahkttna lighthouse and Ristna
lighthouse were previously reported .Their positions
by bearings were stated to be at N 59-02, 11 22-35, and
N 58-56-Q5, E 22-05 respectively.

at N 58-5644 E 22-06; its beam, which had a tremendous intensity, made the
woods and even the individual trees visible The searchlight 25X1
emitted a bluish gleam and could easily be followed on the ice sheet as it
moved from south to north at regular intervals.1
