On 10 May 1953 at about 0900, a train passed through Cluj railroad station, coming from the direction of Oradea. The train consisted of 30 Hungarian flatcars of 50-ton capacity each. Each car carried one tank of unknown type. From markings on the cars it was clear that the train had been made up in Miskolc and was bound for Gherla. 2. The tanks had one high and one low gun turret, sloping turret faces, eight wheels without armor skirts were about 9 to 9.5 m long, 3 to 3.5 m wide, and probably weighed 40 to 50 tons. The higher turret carried a long gun, probably a 76.2 ICm, with a machine gun, and the lower turret a gun about 45 mm, with another machine gun. There were no marks on the turrets.. The tanks did not appear to be new. 3 The shoulder boards of the accompanying soldiers were edged with red and had .black decorations.
