THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
Documents from the State Secretariat for Cher..istry, Stones and Earths
indicated that, on 26 November 1952, a conference on the production
and delivery of concrete camouflage paints to the Soviet Air Force was
held by a Soviet air force colonel and a major from an SCC office, two
German representatives of the State Secretariat, including Mr. Weber (fnu).)
and a remresentatjve of the Lackfabrik Osterwieck, who was called in
later. The Soviet air force cormission thoroughly inspected brown, green
and red samples of the oxylid camouflage paint, developed by the paints
proaucing factory, and inquired painstakingly about the production
possibilities, the capacity of the available machinery; and the raw
:rz:terial situation at the Lackfabrik Osterwieck. The factory was ordered
to develop and submit a brownish tint for future delivery and
to ..rocure raw materials for the production of at least 400 tons of
o,axeouflage paints. The corr:ission stated that the matter was urgent and
that the order would be given immediately after the choice of the tint
had been trade. While the Soviet air force colonel was chiefly interested
1-i the camouflage effect and the ouality of the paint, the administration
major discussed the prices demanded.
