1. Cottbus airfield was occupied by 150 to 200 MIGts on 16 July. Four MIG;15ts
were observed at Drewitz airfield. 1
2. Welzow airfield was newly occupied by MIG-151s on 17 July. 2
Six transports with cargo gliders were transferred from Brandis airfield on

1. The above information confirms that an exercise involving aircraft
of the fighter regiments from Puetnitz, Grossenhain, Zerbst and
Iaerz airfields was held in the Cottbus area. Cottbus airfield
was presumably occupied by about 80 14IGG15ts of the VPL in addition
to about the same number of aircraft from the Soviet regiments.
2. It appears that the evacuated bomber airfields have been tempor-
arily occupied by small details of 1410-15's. Such details have
been reported from Werneuchen, Welzow and Drewitz airfields. The
HIG-15 t a observed at Drewitz airfield probably belong tD a VPL unit.

Saxon,, which was started on 19 June and was centered mainly on
Brandis and Erfurt-Bindersleben airfields, has now been terminated.
