2. In Drzetowop along ui.ica Ludowa where the Germans constructed buildingsq
underground shelters' and storehouses during the ware the Saviets have
opened up a chemical estab: i,shm.ent which bears the name Panstwc Zaklady
Chemiczne No,, 6 w Szczecinie (State Chemical l Works No. 6 at Szczecin).
.
The chemical establishment 9 which employs about 400 workers? including
womeny is engaged. in assembling artillery shells. Shell eases;, various
types of potader9 and shells for large caliber artillery guns are shipped
in to the afore-mentioned plant, and the finished product is either stored
at the plants shipped out 'by railroad carsf or transported southward by
the Oder River fleet. The entire chemical plant is surrounded barbed
wire and guarded by sentries of the KBW (Internal Sea urit7 Corps).
The Polish Navy has :opened, -sip a new shipyard on the island of Gr.yfla
in Szczecin (Stettin) $ near the Stocznie Szezeci.nski shipyard and the
suburb of Drzetowon A dry-dock. has been constru ted and several cranes
installed in the shipyard,
