__-_The information tends to
indicate, however, t at the bulk of the tank units stationed in the Neue Infanterie
Kaserne and the, elements of the 234th 4ort Regt stationed in the Alte Grenadier
Kaserne which had been absent in early 1a
three rocket launchers in the to
Grenadier Kaserne. As ; in April 1953, each one rocket launcher was seen with the
mortar regiments in Brandenburg, Weimar, and edurzen during the loadings for the
troop training grounds, and regarding the observations in i eustrel.itz, it is not
impossible that the mortar regiments of the tank and mechanized divisions have
recently been equipped with individual rocket launchers. Although this measure
cannot definitely be accounted for, there is the possibility that the guns had
to provide rapid fire on major target areas within the frame work of the mortar
battalions.
