1. The barracks of the 41st Light Artillery Regiment of the Polish Army are
Iodated in Jaroslawl (5001 N - 2241 E), along both sides of ulica Kos-
ciuszki, between ulica Konopnicki and silica Kraszewski Staszyca. The
barracks extend for about 900 meters along the road. They consist of
14 buildings of all sizes. One of the buildings is occupied by the
Military District Headquarters (Rejonowa Komenda Uzupeln .en). The bar-
racks are built of red bricks.
2. The 41st Light Artillery Regiment has about 35 guns, some pulled by trucks..
and some by horses. The guns have rubber wheels. The caliber of the guns
is not known. Mortars have also been observed; the regiment's mortar unit
has 12 pieces. Each battery has two heavy machine guns. The regiment also
has 30 trucks, mostly Russian ZTS--type, and four passenger cars. About 50
horses are assigned to the regiment.
3. The 41st Light Artillery Regiment wears blue-grey uniforms, similar. to
those worn by the MO (Citizens Militia). The hats are of the same color
with dark blue piping.
.4. The regiment was observed returning from summer maneuvers, and it is
estimated thQ.t it consists of about 1,500 men. None of the leading per-
sonnel in the regiment are known.
5. A light infantry unit is quartered in barracks in Jaroslaw which house
the 41st Light Artillery Unit. The infantry unit is in the barracks north
of ulica Kosciuszki. The unit has about 12 light mortars and'15 AT guns
of two calibers which have not been determined; one type of AT gun has a
long barrel, the other a short barrel. The unit also has Maxim HMG's,
`Degtyariev sub-machine guns, PPS's, and KB's. Soldiers of the unit wear
green uniforms with red piping. The T/O of the unit is 1,200, but it is
under strength,

IComment: This information confirms another report which
was received in this office,d3.te of information May 1952. However,
other reference guides locate the 40th Artillery Regiment in Jaro-
slaw and the 41st in Gdansk (Danzig).
