ASoviet unit belonging to the Danube flotilla is stationed at Baja; it
consists of 12 different warships, Four of these are_gunboatp.,,each..of
which is armed with one 8 or. antiaircraft gun and 2 twin machine guns.
During the winter of 1952?1953 this unit was stationed in the estuary of the
sib Canal,

A Soviet River Force boom (sic,) defense battalion (about 250 men) is
stationed at Mohdae, The battalion headquarters is located in a former high-
school but the troops are billeted at Koeliceds 5 k r, south of Mohhes, The.
battalion is equipped with 50-60 vehicles, assault boats and )minesweepers.
It often carries out combined exercises with Hungarian Army1e River Forces:.
at Dunaszekoeos, north of Koelked.

~Iso A well camouflaged boom (sic,) and minefield has 25X1
been reported south of Mohdcs. The minefield has beenicleared once
and relaid; shipping must stop at fixed points and the ships are
usually piloted through the channel.
