In April 1953 the Central Supply and Service Command of the Chinese Communist Revolutionary Military Council was ordered to transfer an army engineering unit to assist in the expansion of buildings at the aviation school at Paoting (N 38-52, E 115-29) and in the expansion of ground installations at Paoting Airfield. The aviation schbol is-notthwest of the airfield. 2. In June 2,000 army personnel and 2,500 civilian personnel were participating in this expansion project, planned for completion by October 1953. After the completion of the entire project,'the aviation school was to serve as a junior training base in the North China Military Area for the Chinese Communist Air Force. STATE X F::::pansi.ou.
