In the Moluccas, tension of the civilian population is mounting over the lengthy Cabinet crisis and the possibility of a Presidential o~r,Masjumi- dominated Cabinet. Anti-Javanese feeling is increasing among the population, which is dissatisfied with the local Javanese Government, Army and Police authorities. The separatist movemeo.t now has wide spread support among civilian groups in the Moluccas, the Celebes and Borneo. 2. Rumors persist from Repu'hlic of South Moluccas sources that a general rebellion will break out at the end of August in the Moluccas, the Celebes and Borneo, instigated by separatist guerrilla bands and supported by dissident factions in the Army. Aim of the rebellion would be to -T'e-estab lish the 'egara Indonesia Timur. The rebellion would be timed to coincide with an expected renewed effort of the Army group to take over the Government in Djakarta. 25X1A 25X1A i."?omment. The Republic of South Moluccas movement was reported in to be active in the early part of 1953. Al: Army campaign against it had ceased; however, after some murders among the civilian population, a detachment of the Mobile Brigade was dispatched to the area. According to an 25X1 Indonesian broadcast of 21 July, Lt.
