1. Soviet engineers and architects have worked. out a new city plan for Sofia
which calls for enlarging the downtown section of Sofia and surrounding it
by parks.
2. Streetcars will be re-routed. Previously all except the No. 6 line passed
through Lenin Square, but according to the new system no streetcars will go
through this square. The No. 3 and No. 4 lines will pass through Dragoman
Street, thus eliminating the large open food market where farmers and TKZS
(Labor Cooperative Agrarian ram members have sold their wares every Friday
~reviottely. The No. 3 and No. 4 lines will enter Dragoman Street by using a
street off Dondukov Boulevard called Bacho Kiro Street, and by using Iek z
and Ekzarkh Yosif Streets.
The new plane also. call for the demolition of Sveta Nedelya Church, and the
construction of a 12-story building for the Bulgarian-Soviet Association in
its place.
