The, Sylve.str brown coal mine, Sokolov, is located to the west of the main
road between Sokolov and,Cheb at a point two km. south of Sokolov. Since
1952,_ the mine has been under joint management with the neighboring Antonin
pit. The Sylvestr mine has its own workers' council and pit, manager.
25X1 This mine is constantly being extended to the southeast.
2. The Sylvestr mine has 150 employees, including 30 women. Work is done in
P1101 shifts, but a third- shift is used if production norms are not fulfilled.
Thee are no forced laborers or brigade workers, but there are several
shock workers in. the mine.
AU the maachiles are new except one. The cable car line, which is 30 years
old, is in good order. There is a double-track railroad line from the mine

b. Output of the mine during the morning and afternoon shifts abounts to 1, 800
tons; on the night' shift it is 600 tons. Coal is despatched by one cable
ear line to Kysperk and by another one to the glass works. It is also, sent.
by train to fast Germany and to domestic consumers. No surplus stock of
coal is retained-at the mine.
