1, The strike at the Fraureuth Ball Bearing Factory caused a sharp drop in production.
The strike was not en .ed until Soviet troops surrounded the factory, and,
prevented everyone from,leaving3.iunder threat of opening fire. Twenty-three
workers were arrested. Orders have been given that the lost production must
be made up by two hours of overtime daily. Hi ~-speed bearings of the type
6207, 6307 and 6310 are now being produced, as well as types 160
and 161, for Soviet aircraft factories.
2. At VEB Lowa Waggonbau Werdau, G 5 and G 6 cross-country cars are being produced,
as, well as the personnel carrier H 3 A. As there are no motors currently being
delivered from 17A Zwickau,l only the chassis and bodies of these cars can
be completed. For the order from Poland, 28 buses have been produced.. Lawn
has also received an order for streetcars from Poland. It haa,not yet been
decided whether they shall be produced by Lowa-Bautzen or Lowa Werdau.2 At
a meeting of the management3 with a representative of the new State Secretariat
for Motor Traffic and Road Mattersjit was stated that the firm was in a. financial
position tot8,cce It orders from the Volkspolizei only on a low priority, and must
work on orders from abroad. A new state subvention was refuse
