REMARKS
1. Between 29 June and 5 July 1953, the Luftnachrichten Kaserne in Bernau was
heavily occupied,as previously. At 2 p.m. on 29 June, eight trucks, each
occupied by 20 soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets, were seen ready
to leave. On 3 July, 1 radio vehicle with rod antenna, 4 x 50 to 70--mm AT guns
and 4 x 120 mortars were in fron the brick garage on Schoenower Strasse;

wooden garage. On 2 July, two boxcarloads of flour were at

On 5 July, the SS Brieftaubenstation (station for homing pigeons)
was occupied by troops wearing red-bordered black epaulets. Four canvas-covered
A.A. guns were seen in the installation. On 5 July, Army Clothing Depot I was
completely quiet. Sixteen trucks were in the first garage on the autobahn.
2. On 9 July, the SS Brieftaubenstation was vacant. Army Clothing Depot I was
occupied by a rear detail of about 200 troops and 35 trucks. There were no guns.
The Luftmehrichten Kaserne was occupied to capacity by about 2x000 troops with
tank, artillPr .and signal insignia. Four 57-mm AT guns, 6 x 120-m mortars,
tan1 and ambulance were observed. A column.of vehicles 25X1

It is possible that the units of
the 120th (?) AAA Regt of the dirlsion stationed in the SS Brieftaubenstation
left between 5 and 9 July, presumably for Tomplin or firing practices at Wustrow
or Jueterbog'.
