1. On 9 June 1953, a pontoon bridge was under construction about 750 meters
upstream from the bridge in Meissen. Heavy engineer equipment was observed.
At 4 p?m,, 4 tanksm 12 trucks, towing 5 AT guns, and 200 troops passed the
bridge, presumably during a najor exercise. Steam boat traffic between
Dresden and Meissen was interrupted between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.All roads to
Meis: en were blocked.l -
2. On 10 June, a column of 30 to 40 motor vehicles
were seen en route from acl-losa arten toward Neubrandenburg. On l June,
15 to 20 trucks and a sedan ere seen at2the ramp
of the Fuerstenberg railroad station, presumably for entraining.
3. At 5 a.m. on 25 June, 46 factory-new 3-axle ar:rored personnel carriers were,
det-?ained F_ kt the tzkorn railroad station. The shipment

25X1 2. Comment, The units roving toward Altstre? itz and Beubrandenburg belonged
to the 9th Gds Tank Div and probably held exercises in the vicinity of the
military post. On 12 June, an AAA unit of the 31st AAA Div was entrained. It
is believed that the same units were involved which, in early May, transferred

division and are believed to have been artillery elements of the 33d Gds -
P'tz Rifle ReRt. The shi :ent may have been attached to a train which,
went from Neustrelitz to Jueterbog
on June.
3.1 Comment. A similar shipment for the 6th Gds Tank Div had arrived
in early June. There is the possibility that an exchange program of
these vehicles for tank divisions in East Germany started in June'.
