REFERENCES
1. In May 1953, the Revolutionary Military Council instructed the East China
Military Area Command to expand the Communications School at Nankingl
and to increase the number of trainees at the school in July 1953. Similar
instructions on the expansion of communications training were issued also
to the other major military areas because of the increasing demand for
military communications personnel.
2. The East China Military Area Command planned to increase the number of trainees
in the 7th Class, vi ch was to open in July, to 2,500 persons and to organize
the trainees into five to tui (1129/7130) instead of into three to tui as
formerly.
3. At the end of June 1953, when the 6th Class of 2,000 trainees was to complete
its 18 months of training, the Communications School was to have trained a
total of 7,000 persons, 40 per cent of whom received assignments to military
troop units.
