The 1953 plan, moreover, lists considerable increases in medium plates, sections up to 18 cm, sections over 18 om, and rails, and decreases in fine sheets, steel bands, rolled wire, and foundry pig iron. 25X1 I I Comments: 1. There is an error in addition; the total for precision steel tubes should read 6,716, and the grand total, 1,824,587 tons.aee Annex 1,pages 5,6. 2. There is an error in addition; the total of the quantities quoted for the individual exporting counties should read 4,601 tons. The error 25X1 was possibly caused by a typographical mistake in writing "6" instead 25X1 of "0" as the last digit in the figures 3. The final yearly totals for standard rails and for the production of page 9. forging billets at Riess are less than they should have been, based on production and import statistics previously reported for the period from 1 January to 30 November 1952. Be* Annex 2, page 8. The production figures for foundry pig iron are also smaller than previous estimates. A comparison, however, is difficult, inasmuch as Annex 1 refers only to foundry pig iron and previous estimates combined foundry pig iron, steel iron, and specular iron, See Annex 2, 25X1 SECRET Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 Annex Io -4 25X1 0 Survey of East German Steel Production and Imports from 1 January to 31 December 1952 Zone Import 2.5X-1 Heavy sheets Auerhammer 9,704 Willie Becker 89,897 Ilsenburg 49,176 Hettstedt 113,725 Maxhuette 4?456 266,058 99,205 366,163 Medium sheets Auerhammer 16,737 Hettetedt 9,970 Olberrhhau 12,388 39,095 6,808 45,903 Fine Sheete Burg 12,463 Olbernhau 4,467 8 4,2,2 106,563 16,116 122,679 Thale Very fine sheets Burg 1,820 1,820 5,231 7,051 Pickled sheets Hettetedt 6,677 Thal. 28,121 35,668 15,034 50,702 Automobile body sheets Thale 2,153 2,153 2,153 E?etria-eneaial steel sheets Auerhammer 265 Thale 2,079 Burg 314 2,658 836 3,494 S ri ,g steel 319 319 Dynamo sheets Burg 2,494 Qlbernhau 6,158 Thale 8,904 17,556 98 17,654 Trangformez sheets Thale 4,009 Olbernhau 1,857 Burg 2,772 8,638 1,393 10,031 25X1 SEORET Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 25X1 SECRET Annex I: (cont'd) - 5 25X1. 0 L Zone Import Total Seamless boiler tubes Riesa Steel bars, warm-rolled 15,485 15,485 31,000 46,485 Riesa Finow Maxhuette Willi Beaker Doehlen Hennigedorf Steel bands `wa -rolled 122,330 40,437 25,958 37,905 3,187 139.059 368,876 28,828 397,704 Rieea KW Oberepree 61,618 17 78,832 2,069 80,901 steel bare, oold-draw Brotterode 5,789 Praema 13,068 Delitzeoh 15,518 Miteoherling 620 Ziehwerk Berlin 4,922 39,917 1,585 41,502 steel bands, gold-rolled Faradid 5,955 Oranienburg 3,229 Salzungen 4,541 Hettetedt 23,819 4,595 28,414 Can atom ll Hettetedt - 1.3.45 1,145 - 1,145 Welded gas tubes Riess,, 23,712 1,169 24,881 Precision steel tubes Faradid 3,325 3,325 3,391 3,716 Rolled wire (6,716) Willi Becker 8,381 Hennigsdorf 34,744 Hettstedt 9,792 Riesa 275 Kabelwerk Oberspree 5,416 58,608 8,509 67,117 Ti_ 29.559 29,559 11,498 41,057 25X1 Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 25X1 SECRET 25X1 Annex I: (cont?d) - 6 0 Its Import Total Standard rails Maxhuette 28,149 28,149 1,667 29,816 Mine rails Maxhuette 7,188 Wilhelm Florin 3,734 Riesa 48a 11,404 350 11,754 Sections up to 18 cm Hennigadorf 3,871 Maxhuette 23,462 Riesa 21,608 48,941 3,111 52,052 Profile over 18 c m Maxhuette 45L 45,844 20,284 66,128 Forzing billets Hennigsdorf 26,184 Maxhuette 41,886 Riess, 102,516 - 102,516 Foundry Rig irog Maxhuette 57,585 EKO 26,043 Calbe 32,01 117,289 82,961 2250 Total production including imports 1,821,587 toz for period 1 January to 31 December 1952 25X1 SECRET Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 25X1 SECRET 25X1?- Annex II: Total Heavy sheets: 99,205 25X1 Medium sheets: 6,808 25X1 25X1 Fine sheets: 16,116 25X1 very fine sheets: 5,231 Pickled sheets: 15,034 25X1 Electric-speoial steel s heet s 8 36 25X1 Spring steel: 3 19 25X1 25X1 Transformer sheets: 1,3 93 Seamless boiler tubes: 31,0 00 25X1 SEQEtETA rom Rumania Approved For Release 2005/07/13 : CIA-RDP80-0081OA002200130012-0 I Degembe r 1952 79,'200 4,570 10,908 2,099 99 9.19 TFO W-4 30. 29.
