no aircraft, trooos.,or sentries were observed at Schoenhauser
Damrra airfield. A wood path at the southeast and.another at the northwest of
the field were blocked b;, recently erected barriers. No runway rats were
observed at the field. Source determined that such runway mats were shipped
away from Wudicke
Comnent,. Schoenhauser Dam airfield, about 500 x 2,800 meters, was
established in 1952? In June 1953, piled up runway mats were observed at. the
field. The present report indicates that these runway mats had been shipped
away. It remains to be seen wh-ther the transfer is connected with a report
from Bautzen. according to which a usually reliable source stated that the
runway mattings at 33aut.aen-Kitten airfield were unsuitable , as they out to
pieces the tires of landing planes, It is possible that there exist a type
of runwaar mat which do not come up to the requirement and are therefore
shipped from the airfields. It is believed that Schoenhauser Damn airfield
is not serviceable at present.
