Source learned from railroadmen that Camp Lieberose was vacated on 18 and 19 ame 1953. Troop movements by road toward Fuerstenwalde via Beeskow were observed. On and after 19 June, the camp was no longer lighted after dusk. 1 2. At 10 a.m. on 3 July, an eaatbound troop train of 4 boxcars and an undetermined number of flatcars with 12 trucks, 8 light AA guns and 4 medium AA guns passe through the Brandenburg railroad station. On 9 July, a column of about 20 trucks occupied by ooldiers with red-bordered black epaulets and 2 AT guns drove through Tangerhuette toward Scheeren. 25X1C 2 25X1C 3. On 4 July, four railroad cars with military goods passed through the Brandenburg railroad station. The shipment came from Buschhof and went to Genthin, I 3 25X1C 25X1C 4- On 8 July, a troop train of 10 converted boxcars, 3 boxcars and 31 side-rack flat- cars, and another troop train of 8 converted boxcars and 21 side-rack flatcary were loaded at Fuerstenwalde with soldiers, AA guns, motor vehicles and billeting - equipment from the Fliegerhorst Kaserne. The trains were dispatched to Jueterbog Altes Lager. 4 5. 25X1C On 11 July, a and billeting day, trucks,' 300 troops wee and artillery troop train with about 250 soldiers-42 x 7642-4m AA guns, 6 trucks, equipment was observed at the Zossen railroad station. At 2 p.n. on 12 July, a troop train carrying 22 T-34 tanks, 11 arrored scout car, 1 truck with a field kitchen; and 1 radio truck was observed at the Neuruppin railroad station. The train left toeaed Altruppin. At 12:30 p.m. on 13 July, T-4 tanks seen at the Neuruppin railroad station. At 1 p.m. on 13 July, 13 tanks of the T-34 and J3 type were unloaded at the Doane- ritz railroad station. Track imprints led to the Adler and Loewen Xaserne. Several sentries were observed at Altes Lager. There were no track imprints leading to thisinstallation. On 13 and 14 July, a rather large number of individual trucks with soldiers wearing rad-bordered black epaulets came from the direction of Seeburg and entered the barracks installations at Doeberitz. Source learned from an in- formant that, on 12 July, tanks were unloaded at Wustermark. 8 Source learned from another informant that tanks were unloaded at Altruppin on the evening of 33 July. Truck columns coming from the lirection of Herzberg entered the barracks installations in Neuruppin on 12 July. t) On 14 July- 3 rocket launchers of Unit Ghesnakov (Thu) returned to the Fliegerhorst Kaserne in Schoenvalde froe Hohen- schoepping, and 2 rocket launchers from the steel plant in Bennigsdorf. Source learned from an informant from Rathenom that large units still were at Altengrebow 25X1 troop training grounds. 9 25X1 11, On 15 July, source learned from a doctor from Goerlitz that there were allegedly riots in the Polish-occupied area near Goerlitz. Artillery fire had been heard there on and after 13 July. Increased Soviet troop movements were allegedly ob- served in this area. 1? 12. On 16 July, a troop train of 22 boxcars and about 10 gondola cars with about 6 x 120-mm mortars, about 8 AT guns, and 20 trucks was loaded at the Fuerstenwaide railroad station. At about 10 a.m., the train vent toward Berlin via Erkner. 11 13. At 6:30 p.m. on 16 ;July, 10 x 122-mm field howitzers, 10 trucks, 12 trucks with billeting equipment, 3 van-like trucks, 6 tank trucks and 2 field kitchens were loaded at the Wildpark freight station. 12 9. 25X1C 25X1A 25X1C were. 25X1C 25X1C 14. Truckl Iwith a driving school wasseen.] 25X1A 1- I Lgemmenln As troops of the 7th Gds Yecz Div arrived at Frankfurt/Oder and Fuerstenuaide at the game time, the information is given credence. 25X1A 2. 25X1A 25X1C Perrpent The troop train on 3 July 1953 possibly carried AAA units of the 2nd Gds AAA Div-which returned from Wustrow to their home stations. On 5 July 1953, a similar troop train probably coning fro: Wnstrow was unloaded at Kummersdorf. Seel I? The column driving toward the Bittkau troop training grounds probably belonged to the 18th Fecz Div. Probably-light AA units of .the 63rd AAA Div (US) were entrained which, according to official records, Moved to Jueterbog on two troop trains 5. I [Comment. The troop train probably carried components of the 2nd Gds AAA Div which, according to official records, noved from Wuensdorf to Neubukow with. The Vehicles at Camp Zossen belonged to the GOFGo Covment. The troop trains carried components of the 12th Gds Tank Div. Official records indicated that toe division was shipped from the Berlin area to Neuruppin and Altruppin on seven trains on 11, 12 arid 13 July 1953. The troop train redispatch,A to Altruppin had 'Unloading.; at Neurur-on in contmattiOn idth the above movements were also ooserved. See 7. 1 !Comment. Probably a troop train with a combined artillery-Oil:nit of the 9th Ods Tank Div which. accordim to official records went from Neustrelitz to Altengrabow on 12 Aly 1953. 25X1A 25X1A 25X1A 25X1A 25X1A 25X1 LComat. The unloading of tank units of the 15t Mecz Div at Doeberitz on 25X1A 12 and 13 July 1953 has been repeatedly reported. See L These shipments froill East Berlin also included three troop trains which went to wester- mark on 32 July 1953. 9 I Elements of the 90th RL Regt (US) o. the SeCond Gds Mecz Army from Schoenwalds pnobably were employed at Hennigsdorf and Hohenschoepping, north of Nennigsdorf. during the riots on East Germany. According to another source, the bulk of the 6th Arty Div from Rathenow was still believed to be stationed at Altengrabow in early July 1953. See 11. Montt, Similar observations ware made by two other sources prior to 10 July 1953. See Soptent, Probably components of the 7th Ode Mecz Div were entrained at Fuerstenwalde. Compare with reports by other sources on the unloading of con- tingents of the 0.ViSi011 at the railroad stations of Schocneweide and Adlershof in Berlin on 16 and 17 .July 1953. See 25X1A 25X1A 32. gornp-At. Probably entraining of elements of the 30th Gds Gun Arty Brig letich, according to official records, moved to Altengrabow on four troop trains on 3E July 1953. As every year about this time, the brigade of the 34th Arty Div (US), which had remained at its home station, rotated with another brigade of the divi- ? sion at Altengrabow. Troop trains with the brigade from Altengrabow probably went to Wildpark on L6 July 1953. Thus, it is believed that source in paragraph 13 ?-ctually observed the unloading of troops. LOomment. As In early July 1953, large elements of the 597th Mtz Rifle Rcgt of the 207th Fitz Rifle Div were also stationed at the Fliegerhorst Kaserne in Quedlinhurg Qualmbock in mid-July.
