2,, Prior to early fall of 1952., a Polish WOP battalion was located in
southwest section of Ziegenort (0 54/Q 48) about 500 meters northetot of
the railroad station. The superior headquarters of the battalion wfjo ?.oc? tec,
in Stettin. Commanding officer of the battalion was a major. Captain owica

term of service or whether: the army personnel was transferred from the army
to the WOPO These occurrences were paralleled in Czechoslovakia when the PS
units ware deactivated and complete army units were incorporated with the
border guard troops.
