is There has been a. considerable rise in prices on the free market'in Rumania.
Pork which cost 2f lei per kilogram last year is now 35 to 40 lei, per kilo-
gram; black bread, which was two lei pet' kilog a' :s now six lei per kilogra ;
rationed meat, which was 34 lei per kilogram asst ,Year is now 1!i to 20 lei
per kilogram; butter is not *kle4
2. The cost of living for both workers and officials has gone much, higher.
3. Some, concessions have been Made to the peasants, including the remission of
punishments for" failure to take del- veree and permission to retain 5O kilo-
grams of grain when it is delivered.
