Anesphalt road;, about 6 meters wide, extended to the field from Prerov and another road from Veskir (P 50/0 03) railroad station. The roads at the field were covered with concrete and were 4 to 8 meters wide. The a ilagos of Bor.-bor and Vicel.in were occupied by civilians, Of the old buildings at the airfield only two hangars and some small low wooden buildings remain in the northeastern corner of the field. The ether buildings observed at the field had been newly constru, ted by the Czechs. In August 1952,, excavation work was observed in the southern section of the field in the woods w,?st of Vicelina The high trees around the building had net been out for camouflage purposes, 2n The landing field was level F, sandy and covered with grass. After a long rain, the soil in the woods was marshy and 'srncoth. A SW--NF runway, about 2 km longs, 40 meters wide and covered with a concrete top layer was at the fielder A concrete taxiway abut 15 meters wide 'ranched off toward the north to the old hax-t-ors and extended south of, and .par;ille1 to, the runway. South of the taxiway in the northern corner of the woods we:>e three underground fuel t,_.c;.3. s ,, The westernmost tav'4 - was aoompleted but hfad not ben fill ed with fuel as of August 1952? The tanks-- allegedly,, were up bo 10 meters underground. Each ' . ank had a wall. thickness of about 1.5 meters and contained 5 fuel containers. each 6 meters long and 2.5 meters in diameter, Another fuel dump which was filled and gua-~ded was located in the northwestern: sectiaa of the field, There, 10 vent pipes projected beyond walls of earth.71 3,, About 15 single-seat jet aircraft with swept-back wings, thought to be MiG4Ss according to workers, were parked In the old hangars at the field. The aircraft were daily towed out of the hangars and then parked along the arron in front of the hangi ,, Also some were towed to the point where the taxiway branches off from the runway. Aircraft flying individually and in groups of two were daily observed aloft. No AA gun emplacement was observed at the field,, A Czech stated that an AA gun emplacement of 4 guns was located on triangulation point 298 p referred to as `ohwedc nscbanze (Sredske Santa) about 4 km east of the field, southeast of Prerov, Informant also said that this empla.(sear:ent was peatedly occupied by gunso Between December 1951 and January 19527 now temporary buildings were. being erected in a billeting area northeast of ` ,ia..sz'V,:~ Mezirici tP 50/0 34),,, The barracks buildings were occupied by an infantry unit and an air fore unit.; Officers up to colonel were observed among the air force personnel 25X1A it. mz r.
