In June 1953 all sick and wounded prisonera,?who were exchanged-at Panmunjom, were welcomed and well-,treated by the Communist authorities and citizens of North Korea when they entered North Korea. The prisoners were-transferred from Panmunjom to Kaesong by truck. Here they were entertained at parties where they received luxurious foods. The cost-of eggs-in-Kkes6ng went from 400 North Korean won to 650 won because of the many eggs-used-at.the parties. The prisoners were put in a temporary hospital in Kaesong.for 10-days. The Chinese Communist prisoners were then taken to Nanchuria, and the North Korean prisoners were moved to Plyongyang where they were pit in army -hospitals for medical treatment. The recovered prisoners were.then.sent home, but those . without families were given jobs according to a directive from the North Korean Army General Command.
