2rw 2C F,40 30 July 1953v bIA Feinmecnanik und Ortik held a conference with
rerresentatives of Carl Zeiss, Jena, at which the Zeiss export plan
for 1954 was to be established, rending ultimate approval by the State
Flannine Colemission. The followins Zeiss personnel were present:
a. L.. Cuenther 13erg0 Disp liDR (head of the East German Sales
Office), who at the same time acted as representative of
Zeis Sales Director Lormz Fromm (a.L)1, who was on a
vacation.
b. Sei,fried Kessler, Disr.kil(ead of the Sales Office for
Caritalist Countries).
:tare, Disc VU2(head of the Sales Office for Russia and
the Satellites).
Among the DIA eersonnel present were/ Technical Director for Ortics
Dussacker (fnu); Chief of the Flanning Department Kaiser (fnu); and
Loracn (fnu), a member of the EIA Eirectorate.
2. Frior te the meeting with DIA, Zeis., at the insistence of the Linistry
for Cmeral 'facnine Constructien,had agreed to manufacture in 1954 a
total of 11C EE worth of F 'oducts. The export share of this
total rroduction was at the same tile fixed at 78 million DTI; products
amounAne to that sum were to be exe,orted to the USSR and Soviet
4vatellites, te" non-Communirt countries and to ',:est Cermany. Twenty million
e the 7! milt:Len XL' is for A-1 ae7ial training devices. An order for
deliiery of A -1 devices in 1954 has not yet been placed with Zeiss. On
24 Jely 1953, however, Zeiss received a teletype letter from DIA reinmechanik
