40 percent. Food shi.pments decreased as follows: grain shipments were down from
a daily average of 69 to one of 18 carloads, vegetable shipment from 31 to 10
carloads, and goods shipped in refrigerator cars from 39 carloads daily to
8 carloads, i.e. a decrease of 75, 60 and 50 percent respectively. It could not
be determined whether foodstuffs were dispatched at a reduced rate or rerouted
via other border stations.
2. Coriment. The volume of uranium ore shipments reported was below the
average reported previously.
