An area at the ncr there edge of the field had been mowed, The trees had
been cleared from the. western edge of the field to as far as about 600 me-,
tern from the perimeter of I?ahlwinkel0 The tree trunks were out in oieces
and piled up while the branches, were scattered about. A sign with the
following inscription in .English and French was observed at kilometer marker
3.7 on the flahlwrinkel.0obbel roads "Passage for members of military missions

3. No occupation was observed at the field on 29 July.
k.. On 10 August,,, the pine woods along the western edge of the field were cut
in an estimated dimension of 1u5 hectares. The trunks had not yet been
removed. The grass on the fie2 was 10 to 15 cm high.
5. Prior to 10 Sq temberp the airfield was unoccupied and lightly girded by
two civilians0 Source le arned that, the grass on the landing field was to be
mowed by 23 August. From this it wars inferred that the airfield would be
occupied by that date. However, no occupation occurred. The timber in the
cleared area along the western edge of the field had not to en removed by
10 Sep ter bar.
25X1 A r3z Clearing work along the west-northwestern edge of i inhlwinkel
