Since the June 17 distuu:rbances, construction work at Brenerthain airfield
has continued with day and night shifts. In particular, work on the runway

S._'ie's about early September 1953, there has been intensive air activity
by u i_ r cr of : coming from the Polish-occupied Garrnan territory to the Soviet
Zone of Gerimany. Alrost every everting after nightfall, aircraft crossed over
the zonal border and made flights of about 15 minutes duration. Most of the
aircre~ t used were propeller .driven aircraft. 2
Work on the runway has been accelerated since late August 1-953. Concreting
1-ork on the northern third of the runway was started on 8 Septeirber.
Allegedly, a circular taxiway is to be built in 1954.
9. Work was under =ray on the Rothen'ourg Loder.au road, east of the railroad

removed and the local resident's expected that the road would be blocked
