. Between 6 and 11 September 1953, a total of 13 troop trains were loaded with
KVP personnel in Eggesin. these trains were dis- 50X1-HUM
patched to Berlin. However, two of the .trans were later seen passing through'
Demmin. Among other equipment, 38 T-34 tanks, armored scout cars, light artillery
pieces and AT gums were .entrained. Heavy artillery .was 'not observed. The head-
quarters of Division Eggesit and Colonel Siegfried'iileiits-also moved to sore ;other
Place. the first emttY trains teturned on 11 Septem50X1-HUM
bar, and were newly loaded in Eggesito Trucks
were seen on the trains involved.

. The evening of 17 September, a train of about 10.troop cars, '5 boxcars and
30 x flatcars were observed -in Birkenwerder en route from the dire50)(1-HUM
of Berlin toward Eberswalde. The train carried about 300 KITP, 20 trucks, 20
sedans and included 5 boxcars loaded with hbrses.
4 KVP troop train proceeded through Birkenwerder railroad station en
route from the direction of Berlin-Schoeneweide toward Eberswalde on 15 Septem-
ber; another such train was observed proceeding in the same direction in the
night of 16/17 September. 2 -
3. In the morning hours of 12 and 14 September, one KVP troop train each passed
through Birkenwerder railroad station toward Oranienburg. Each of the trains
consisted of 19 troop cars and 19 flatcars loaded with sedans and trucks. 2
On ttle morning of 13 September, a KVP troop train loaded with personnel and
motor vehicles was seen preceeding through Neubrandenburg en route toward
Stralsund. On 14 September; a IMP troop train which was headed toward Neubran-
denburg stopped between Neustrelitz and Altstrelitz.. The train consisted \of 20
boxcars loaded ..with personnel, ,an undetermined number of flatcars loaded with
2-9-? trucks, 3 t trucks 'tank tcks and 2 sedans 50X1-HUM
?dn the morning of 14 September, another KVP troop train which was headed
toward Fuerstenbetg was seen between Gransee and Fuerstehberg on the Havel River.
The train consisted of 15 boxcars loaded with personnel and flatcars loaded with
a total of 20 trucks, 1 sedan and. 1 motorcycle. At the same time a

KV? troop train headed toward Oranienburg between Schoenfliess And Oranienburg.
This train consisted of ,18. boxcar* loaded .With: personnel:ahd an undetermined
number of flatcars loadgallitfi 20 -trucks. '

5. In the night of 12/13 September 3 or 4 troop trains with 50X1-HUM
a total of about 20 RRy cars, 30 SSy cars, 25 x 2-asIe flatcars and 35 boxcars

at the Berlin-Lichtenberg railroad station. The trains carried an estimated
800 KVPs who wore red and green epaulets, 18 to 25 trucks, 10 to 15 truck
trailers, 6 sedans, 5 field kitchens, 5 tanks and other heavy weapons and equip-
ment includin robably large searchlights which were covered with tarpaulins.
It appeared that these trains were being unloaded. Two of the trains
seen were headed toward Berlin-Friedrichsfelde-Ost. The station area was cor- 50X1-HUM
doned off during the unloading operations. At noon on 14 September, traffic
was again normal at the Lichtenberg railroad station. 1
6. After 8 September, 3 trains loaded with KVP infantry units with vehielespbut 50X1-HUM
without heavy weapons, were dispatched every day from 1105 Eaappin?Tnropinw Area
to the Zentralviehhof (centr d) in Berlin,
these units were to be employed for missions along
the sector boundaries in Berlin. 50X1-HUM
7. On 12 September, a KVP train arrived at the Magerviehhof in Berlin from the 50X1-HUM
direction of Lichtenberg. The train consisted of 20 boxcars each loaded with
30 KVPs and about 25 flatcars each loaded with a truck. No heavy weapons were
seen.'
At noon on 11 September, a KVP troop train consisting of 15 boxcars and 20 flat-
cars headed toward Jatznick was seen on the Eggesin-Torgelow-Jatznick railroad
line. 10 to 12 trucks, 2 armored scout cars and several aedans
which were loaded on flatcars. 1

9. At noon on?? September, a train of 22 boxcars and 15 flatcars was loaded with
KVP personnel at the Eggesin railroad station. About 40 KVPs with light-blue
collar patches were seen in front of each boxcar. 1

10k, On 11 September. a KVP. troop train consisting of 22 'boxcars,
15 flatcars and 6 empty SSy cars at the Jatznick railroad station. The train
was headed toward Pasewalk. The boxcars were occupied to capacity by KVP per- 50X1-HUM
sonnel.Eleven trucks. 4 field kitchens and 4 Sedans were seen on the flatcars.

station on each day between 8 and Il September. 1 50X1-HUM

September were bound for Halberstadt, some of the
shipments were to be dispatched to Saxony and to Berlin-Lichtenberg.
Comment, Between 8 and 12 September, three mechanized regiments and a 50X1-HUM

moved from Egge8in to Berlin.

Comment. It was previously reported that the KVP units from Prora which
had been employed in East Berlin left for their military post prior to 12 Sep-
tember 1953.
