2, In early October, a red stripe was observed on the tail assemblies of two
11-15R It could not be determined whether the win
also had a colored marking.
3. At 8 p.m. on 25 September, no lights were in operation at the field or were
the quartering buildings and the guardhouse lighted.3 At 9:30 a.m. on 1.2 O0..
sober, no soldiers, aircraft.or sentries were observed at the field. The E! rd-
house was closed. At 8-40 p.,m. the-guardhouse was lighted and the gate was lluz.-
ninated by searchlights. Many single-story buildings in the southern portion of
the field were lighted,. At the eastern edge of the field which was not il:juni-
nested, a rotating serachlight was in operation.4
25X1A omrnent. Brand airfield is occupied by a fighter regiment which sgieippec
with 30 to 35 MIG-15s. In early August 1953 the regiment transferred f--omm. Alt-
Loennewitz to Brand.

The meaning of the markings have not yet been determined.
