1: As of May 1953 the Chfongjin City'Broadcasting Station was in a grass-
canouflaged building at EB-6614268. "This station was equipped with two
antennas: one, 15 meters high, on a hill southwest of the building; the
other, 5 meters high; in front of'the building. A thick wire was strung
between the antennae. There was a concrete'air raid tunnel immediately
behind the building. This tunnel was partitioned into the following rooms:
broadcasting 'room; reception room, manager-s-office; and an office for
staff members. No guard was posted at this station.
2. A ten-day broadcasting schedule was posted in the reception room. Two
receptionists and three clerks worked in this room. Only important guests,
who came to broadcast, waited in the reception room; all others waited in
another office, or outside the tunnel.- One of the announcers on this
station was 1IM Chiun=kum (6855/25014/6930)
3. Loudspeakers installed on the'main streets of Chiengjin relayed news
broadcasts from this station and other stations in North Korea. The local
news broadcasts consisted primarily of propaganda on 'incre asing production.
Occasionally news from Pfyongyang and Moscow was relayed throughout the
Chfongjin area.
