1. The 195+ production plan for the Warnow-Werft was fixed as follows:

2. On 23 'September 1953, fire broke out aboard the B lIKAL,arivver, :passenger ship which
bad been launched on 25 July 1953. There Was o4.y little damage. The cause of the fire.
was not determined. The target date for the Bt KAL had probably to be postponed, f
as a large number of the 480,000 rivets needed proved unsuitable.
3. The Warnow shipyard received orders to hire additional 500 shipyard workers to
meet the target date of the completion of SOVIETSKE SOYUZ. Source believed
that the employment of these additional workers was also the result of go-slaw
tactics. After the SID Central-Committee had orderdd that clerical workers be
retr.:Lndd. Tot production work by 15 October 1953, 9,200 workers including 37..
percent clerical workers were employed at the Warnow shipyard in Warnemuende in
September 1953..
k. All functionaries and key employees of the shipyard were required to stand
night watch aboard ships after Ulbricht's list speech on Western agents and
sabotage.
