On about 13 November, the mayor of Bruck an der Leitha was told by the Soviet town
commander to provide quarters for the families of Soviet officers stationed in
Bruck, The mayor stressed the poor housing situation and asked whether the depen-
dents could not be housed in the former Panzer Kaserne in Bruckneudorf. The Soviet
town commander replied that this proposal was not acceptable.
