RD 25X1 REFERENCES THE SOURCE EVALUATIONS IN THIS REPORT ARE DEFINITIVE. THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. (FOR KEY SEE REVERS!) 25X1 1. Although the harbor of Ustka (Stolpmuende) has not been officially closed to foreign ships, no foreign ships have called at the port for a ~.ong time, and no coal has been brougit into the harbor for export. Fur)hermore, small Soviet ships have been calling at the port very seldom. The controls in the tcr1 and port have increased, namely: WOP sentries check the new arrivals at the'station. aid the militia checks the pedestrians on the street. 25X1 it is not diffic .l't for the militia to recognite^a new arrival because the town. of Ustka Is very small. 2. Three Soviet sub chasers, were anchored in the entrance 25X1 to the harbor on 15 October 1953. These ships were armed with four large two located onthe foredeck and two on the poop; multiple barrel caliber guns , antiaircraft guns; at least two torpedo launchers; and several mines. 25X1 the size of the large caliber guns to those guns possessed by a field I "I artillery regiment. The ships weree anchored in the mntrance for only a Pew hours 25X1 and no one on. board the ships came into the harbor. there are no .naval. ve4sels in t:he harbor of Ustka. 3. The small. Ustka shipyard is constructing wooden fishing cutters about 15 meters In length, fishing craft about 10 meters in length, and rescue shallops about. seven meters in length. The shipyard is in need of motors some of which come from Wroclaw (Br Blau) and others from Raciborz (Ratibor).
