In the middle of August 1953, the Soviet SS AKADE 1K KRYLOV, after leaving Gdynia with a cargo of grain, sank about 60 miles off Rozewie. 2. The grain cargo was loose, and the holds were without partitions. As the ship ran into a storm, the grain shifted in the holds and the ship sank within a few minutes.
