REM^,RKS This is UNEVALUATED InformationL. 25X1 On 8 and 9 October 1953, the bulk of the AAA unit whose total strength was estimat- ed at 4CG men returned to their quarters in Altwarp. Senior Lieutenant Zirdmermann (fnu) was acting comn.ndin, officer of the unit, while Captain Knuth.(fnu) was its chief of staff. The tent came .previously occui::ied by the unit was bein dismantled. The driving school i the strength of about 2CC men remained quartered at the KV1' in- stallation in All warp. The quartering, building used by it was only occupied half 2. The previously assumed transfer of the mortar unit from the cantonment in Altwarp to permanent quarters in Karpin was confirmed. Road construction workers were allegedly to be quartered at the cantonment. 1 the fast German Government had 25X1 made further monetary means available for the construction of KVP barracks installe- tions. Thus for instance, work on the construction of a third block of barracks buildings was started in the billeting area of the AAA unit in Altwmrp. The outlay of the three blocks is identical., and all of they: have dormitories with. a total ca- pacity of 400 men.
