THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
The Leuna-Werke in Merseburg maintaire an. office in East Berlin located at
Berlin W 8q Jaeger Strasse 6, which serves as a liaison office with USIC,
the East German ministries and the various DIAs.3 For the most part, the
Leu.na BerliLx Office deals with the ZVK-of USIG with regard to raw material
allocations ands similar details. In theory and in practice it-performs
the same functions for the SAG Mineralduenger plants in both Piesteritz
and Leuna. , -- . -
21 The Berlin Leuna Officeis directed by Rudolf Mueller, who is also pro-
visionally the sales director for the whole Leuna plant. Mueller spends
the week at Leuna, then comes to Berlin over the weekends to handle the
office details which recuire action on his part or tohandle those special
cases with UUSIG which fall under his jurisdiction. Mueller has no deputy
in Berlin during his absences. This function is more or less carried out
by his secretary, Frau Ingrid Dube, who receives and handles all mail
addressed to the Berlin Leuns Office, distributes it, and receives any and,
all visitors in Mueller's absence., The third floor (Zweite ,Stage) of
the Jaeger Strasse 6 property has been remodeled and turned into a private
ap:.rtmr_ent (Dienstwohnung) for Rudolf Mueller, which he shares with his
fazi1 , #here are several other
y private apartments on this floor.
5. The Jaeger Strasse 6 property belongs to the Leuna plant itself. It is
administered by Ernst Mehnert, whose nickname is "Amarullat. Mehnert is
carried on the Berlin Office 7/o as a bookkeeper but actually serves as
administrator for all Leuna property. The building has been rented out
in part and now has the following occupants:
a? Ground floor (Parterre) - rented out as office space; includes
space rented to the "Haas der Bildenden Kunst"( House of the
Fine Arts)
o.. Second floor (erste Etage) - Luna Offices; one room is set Aside
for use by a reprasoutative of Berliner Stickstoffwerke,
='iesteritz.
