1.. In the event of a fire breaking out, no matter where, the Fire Service headquarters
(Komenda Strazy Pozarnei) in Gdynia?on being informed, must immediately pass on
the information by telephone to the Voivodso hihe Public c Security yioe office in Gdansk
(D~nsig) which sends its representatives
2. The tasks of the fire service do not include an investigation as to the causes
of the fire. This investigation is always carried out by experts of the
VoivOdshi.p Public Security oiffice.
3. The Voivodship C'1R representatives never join the actual fire fighting, although
they are trained fire-fighting experts; they devote t time, to a very

thorough investigation as to what caustd the fire and,
they do it very well.
Fire-fighting equipment is standardized a11.. over Poland. Street hydrants have also
been standsat,di zed.sr that there is no difficulty when several firefighting
teams prom various districts or localities collaborate in fightinga major
fire.
