25X1 1. In early September 1953 an enemy patrol boat with a speed of 13 to 15 miles an
hour was operating out of Kumi-ri (N 38-01+, E 125-01) (XC-7715) to patrol the
Taedong Bay. Another boat, operating from Yongwi-do (N 37-1+8, E 125-21)
(YB-0786), was assigned to patrol Ch'angin-do (XB-9185), Shwa-do (XB-9680),
Sunwi-do (YB-0178), and other nearby islands. This boat was 3 meters long and
had a speed of 15 to 18 miles an hour. On 19 September six small wooden boats
were patrolling at Kwip'o (YC-3308) (sic).
2. In early September an unidentified North Korean army unit of approximately 200
men, a police station, and a Social Security station were on Yongmae-do (N 37-1+6,
E 125-54+) (YB-5583).
3. On 2 September a North Korean army unit of ap:proximatel 300 men moved from
the Haeju area to Chomi-do (N 37-50, E 125-51.) (YB-5591). The unit was billeted
in 20 air raid shelters, and in civilian houses. The men were armed'with rifles,
PPSh's, and heavy machine guns, and were guarding the coastal area.
