REFERENCES 25X1 25X1 1, The Droste jov-Kastelac military airfield was built before World War I1 and enlarged during; the German occupation, when it was being used by the Luftwaffe, It has been under reconstruction since spring 19520 2, The field Is located west of Proetejov and north of the village of Mostkovice,, along the Pr.ostejov Mostkov10e-Ohrozira district road. Part of this road,, some 800 meters from Most'koviceg forma the southwest boundary of the airfield. the southeast it is bordered by a district road which links Mostk:ovice with the main road, leading from Prostejov to Koetelec na Hane0 In the north the airfield runs into fields, The Prostejov-Kostelec ne. Hane railroad line runs westward at, a distance of about 2,000 meters from t.rie field. 3. This field is 257 meters above sea lever It is triangular in agape;, the longest distance being, 1,200 meters. In 1952, the runway from west to east was extended to at least 1,000 meters long by about 50 or 60 meters in width. The field is surrounded by a 'barbed wire fence, 4. The largest hangar is located in the north; it is a steel structure 40 by 200 meters in size, Another hangar was 'built in spring 1952 near the western end of the runway. It is part steel? part brick, and is 30 by 80 meters in size, 5. Close to the smaller hangar is a one.-story building 15 meters square., with an aerial and a wind gauge on the roof. The administration building is located at the inter- section of connecting road a building 20 by 80 sentry hut 5 by 6 meters in size. 6. In the eastern part of the field there are two concrete towers on either side of the runway. They are about five or six meters high, with two floodlights and, two anti-aircraft machine guns on each. Another floodlight and an anti-aircraft machine gun are located on the roof of the hangar close to the runway. The following aircraft have been observed on this field: three MiG-15s9 two Me-109s, four S:iebels, two CAPS, ten Ju-52s and four or five Dakotas. A number of training aircraft, including biplanes, have also been observed. 8. Since autumn 19'52, the field has been used by jet aircraft. These are kept in the hangar near the runway. 9. Access to the field is by means of a country road which has been paved with concrete and runs from Stichovice between the district road and the hangar. A military bus runs twice a day from the barracks in Prostejov to the airfield at 6 a.m. and 9 p..m. Pedestrians and motorists are not allowed to stop on the Prostejov-Flumlov road near the field. This strip of road is watched by several SNB men in plainclothes who challenge loiterers and require them to show identi- fication. 10. Electricity for the field is supplied by the power plant at Prerov, The field is illuminated at night. 11. Aircraft'cremen are probably billeted in the Air Force barracks at Prostejov. 12. Four men are on duty at all times in the guardroom. 13.
