1. On 31 October 1953, the Von-denim-Busche K:xse ne in Leisnig j as occupied
almost to capacity About 90 to 100 T-34J,03-1 and JS-2 tanks and JSU-1212
guns, and 1.1 armored scout cars with covered numbers were seers, when the
troops returned to the installation abou?;.24 October . Numerous trucks and
intensive maintenance work ware observed in the barracks area. 'ha trucks
included some loaded with supplies and others occupied by troops wearing
red--bordered black e:uletrith tank and artillery insignia and coming
from the Ninkwita firing range. F

2. On 31 October, the Friedrich August Kaserne was occupied to capacity by
troops wearing red--bordered black epaulets with artillery insig.,aia. Source
determined 57-m AT guns and 132-m and 82-nun rocket launchers in the
barracks area. The troops had returned tc the installation exclusively
during the night.
3. On 25 October, the Von-des--Busohe Kaserna was occupied to capacity by
troops wearing reel -bordered black epaulets. Sentries observed wore red- 25X1
bordered black epaulets. with tank insi.gn1a. Between 15 and 25 October,
source did not observe any training activity. Troops observed engaged in

On 25 October,, the Friedrich August Kaserne was heavily occupied.
Sentries observed more red-bordered black epaulets with artil'.ery
insignia. Little activity was observed in the barracks area. No
training was conducted. Nor did source observe any vehicular traffic..
Numerous officers and Er?' were seen en route between the installation
and the town,
