REFERENCES 11 January 1954 Graduates of the merchant marine officers school in Gdynia, Poland, who are judged by the politruks to be 100% politically reliable, are.being chosen for advanced studies in the Soviet naval academies at Leningrad and Odessa. After completing a four-year course of study in the 5oviet Union, the students are expected to return to Poland to assume high positions in the Polish maritime service and in the management of Polish harbors. Four to six students are sent yearly to the Soviet Union. The first group was sent in 1950 and should return to Poland in 1954.
