1. On 26 November 1953, the Luftnachrichten Kaserne, Bernal', was occupied by
about 2,500 to 3,000 troops wearing red-bordered black epaulets, including
same with artillery and tank insignia. about 5 to 6 tanks
and 3 x 57-mm AT guns in the sheds. On 19 November, truck
left the installation, towing a 120-mm 'mortar. Individual drill and close
order drill were regularly conducted in the insoallation. An undetermined
number of troops went to the Schoenow training area and engaged there in
the construction of field fortifications, Motor velicles seen en route to
and from the installation

by about 400 to 500 troops wearing rel-bordered bla-A opaulfts with artillery

occupied to capacity. I IColonel Khlopov (MO returned tc the

north section of building No 7 wao scheduled to be soon reconstructed for officersV
families. The new building was to have ,:wo sto7iee. About 300,000 eastmarks had
been allotted for the project. Building 140 6a 'loused the locksmith's Shop and
the forge, and 'Wilding No 6b was also to be re.aonstructed. A total of 150,000
eastmarks had been allotted for this LatGer prolect.
