le The Hungarian state enterprise Agrimpex is one of 20 or 22 import and export firms un-
r the direction of the Ministry of External and Internal Trade. Agrimpex controls
the-import and export of agricultural produce and industrial agriculture products.
Three categories of commodities are assigned to the three main departments of
Agrimpex:
a. Quantitative products: grains, legumes, forage;
b. Industrial products: cocoa and oil, malt, hops, beets, sunflower and pumpkin seeds;
c. Seed products, including garden seed.
2. All Hungarian seed imports are handled by the seed department of Agrimpex. Export
of seed is currently at a minimum. This department is also handling Hungaryls entire
produce export, due to a shortage of qualified officials in other departments.
3. The main Hungarian produce exports and imports in 1953 were as follows:
a. Exports: wheat, corn, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, hemp, mustard seed,, eu ar7 oils,
malt, clovers, alfalfa;l
be Imports: low grade food oils, suet, potatoes.
Agrimpex representatives in Vienna sold nearly $4,000,000 worth of agricultural
products in the period 15 September to 25 October 1953. A list of products and
prices received are as follows:

Sunflower seed oil 1,070,000
