5. New Ore Smelting Plant, located about five kilometers east of the town, under
construction since March or April 1953. As of September 1953, the main walls of
the plant had been completed, but the roof had not yet been erected or any
equipment installed. The construction is done entirely by Bulgarian labor and
under the direction of Bulgarian technicians. The work week is five and a half
days. There are watchmen on duty at night and on week-ends.

8. Militia Headquarters, a 3-story yellow building measuring approximately 30 x 65
meters located near the center of town on the road leading to the railroad
station. The building is in a courtyard and surrounded by barbed wire.
